Not printed in the United States on ground woven in Belgium — the usual Quadrille passport. I was printed in Italy, on Italian linen and cotton, by Italian hands, and I arrived in Valatie, New York, with the quiet confidence of someone who has come a very long way and knows exactly what they’re worth. My cousins Puccini, Veneto, and Carlo have Italian names. Puccini wrote the opera. That is not a pattern.
