Alan Campbell looked at the paintings on the wall and decided the wall wasn't the right place for them.
Twill — an allover of looping, energetic line in melon on oatmeal Belgian linen-cotton. Not brush strokes. Not abstract. The specific gesture of someone who draws the way other people think — continuously, without lifting the pen, following the line wherever it goes on 52 inches of European-woven ground.
Oatmeal is not beige. It is warm and specific and the color of linen that knows where it came from. Melon is not orange. It is the color of something at the exact moment of ripeness, before it tips either way.
Handprinted in America. Allover repeat — which means there is no wrong way to cut it.
Fifteen yards. At $50. Alan Campbell would have something to say about that price and we have decided not to tell him.
