Brenta — Custom Light Green on Almost White Paper
Alan Campbell's reputation rests largely on his boldest work — the overscaled botanicals, the high-contrast graphic prints that make a room declare itself immediately. Brenta is the other side of that equation: an allover geometric floral so close in value to its ground that the pattern reads first as texture and only resolves into motif when you're standing close enough to count the repeats. Light green on almost white, with a 6-inch vertical repeat that tiles continuously across the wall without the interruption of a large-scale pattern establishing and re-establishing itself every two feet.
The name reaches back to the Brenta Riviera — the canal road west of Venice lined with the summer villas of Venetian patrician families, where the landscape itself was a kind of controlled geometry: clipped hedges, formal water features, facades ornamented with just enough detail to confirm status without resorting to ostentation. Brenta the wallpaper operates on the same principle. It is ornament in the key of restraint.
Twenty yards are available across two coordinating dyelots (5 yards in WHS J53466 B, 15 yards in WHS J53466 C — please measure carefully before ordering, as cuts are untrimmed with join marks). At 27 inches wide with a 6-inch repeat, this is a pattern that rewards large installations: a full room in Brenta reads as a quietly tonal field that makes everything placed in front of it look considered.
