Suncloth is a synthetic fabric designed for more rugged use. While it is suitable for outdoors, please note that continuous exposure to sun and/or chlorinated water will cause fading.

This is a custom color, so will NOT match any standard Turquoise or Navy fabrics from Quadrille or China Seas.  Designers my use any names they like for custom colors.

Nitik batik doesn't try to look like batik. It tries to look like weaving — small, dense, dot-and-cross motifs built up in wax-resist to imitate the texture of ikat and hand embroidery, a trick that requires more precision than either technique it's faking, because a mistake in wax shows immediately where a mistake in thread might hide. It's considered one of the most technically demanding categories in the whole Javanese batik tradition for exactly that reason: virtuosity spent making one craft convincingly impersonate another. Turquoise and navy on Suncloth takes that same close, textural discipline outdoors — the pattern built for imitation, now built to survive actual weather.

China Seas Nitik has real pedigree: featured in Coastal Living, December 2013, in Whitney Cutler's work for Morrison Fairfax Interiors. This colorway — Turquoise/Navy on Suncloth-Acrylic, suited to light outdoor use — has two yards remaining. Small enough for a bench cushion, a pair of pillows, or one very well-considered ottoman. Not enough for hesitation.
