Quadrille Fabric: Veneto - Custom Terracotta on Tinted 100% Linen

Damask is a Venetian word before it’s a textile term — the Serenissima imported the technique from Damascus and then, being Venetian, improved it, scaled it, and sold it back to the rest of Europe at a considerable markup.

Veneto in Terracotta on Tint carries that whole history in its repeat: the sinuous medallion form that traveled from the Islamic world into Italian silk workshops and never left. Hand screen-printed on 100% linen at 52 inches wide, with a 17.5-inch vertical repeat that locks into upholstery panels cleanly.

This particular colorway is the one that looks like Venice itself — terracotta pigment over a warm tinted ground, the exact palette of every crumbling wall along the Rio della Sensa. Two yards remain of this custom lot, which is enough for a pair of pillows or a single chair that will anchor a room the way a bell tower anchors a campo. Once this piece sells, this specific color is gone.
