China Seas Fabric: Bijou Stripe - Custom New Blue / Custom New Shrimp on Cream Suncloth (OUTDOOR)

I need to address the elephant in the room, which is that I am a stripe named Bijou, which means "jewel," and I am printed on Suncloth, which means "poolside." Jewels do not traditionally go to the pool. I am not traditional.

I am also not just a stripe. Look closer. There is a paisley happening inside these stripes - a tiny, intricate, deeply opinionated pattern nested within what appears, from across the terrace, to be a simple vertical rhythm of blue and shrimp on cream. I am the fabric equivalent of a person who seems easygoing until you have a real conversation with them and realize they have a PhD and opinions about architecture. The stripes get me invited. The detail is why I get invited back.

Eleven yards of me on American-woven, American-printed Suncloth means I can handle your outdoor cushions, your poolside banquette, your porch that gets morning sun and afternoon rain. I will not fade on the first date. Continuous sun and chlorine will eventually humble me, as they humble everything, but I am not the fabric you leave out all winter. I am the fabric you bring out when the season starts, like the good china, except I'm acrylic and I don't break.

New Blue and New Shrimp. Two custom colorways on one stripe. The Shrimp Chorus would like me to mention that I stand in solidarity with all sentient crustacean-adjacent colorways. I have no idea what they're talking about. But I support them anyway.
