Lyford Trellis is found in the kind of place that doesn't need to explain itself - and has its own dialect of tropical modernism: clean geometry, natural materials, rooms that felt simultaneously indoor and outdoor, color palettes drawn from sand and sea and the specific quality of Bahamian afternoon light. China Seas was part of that world from the beginning, and Lyford Trellis is the pattern that most directly encodes it — an interlocking geometric lattice that carries the logic of actual architectural trellis work (shadow, depth, overlapping planes) into a printed surface.

This four-color custom colorway is the warm-spectrum version: brown, white, beige, and yellow reading together as sun-bleached wood, aged lacquer, and the particular golden cast of late-afternoon light through woven screening. It is a more complex chromatic proposition than the two-color versions - more layered, less graphic - which means it integrates into rooms that already have warmth and pattern rather than imposing its own.

The 34-inch vertical repeat at 27-inch width means this is a pattern that takes wall space seriously — it wants full rooms, proper installations, the chance to complete its geometric logic across an uninterrupted surface. Twenty yards are available, all from lot WHS J57533 A, which matters: trellis patterns are unforgiving of dyelot variation because the geometry makes any color shift visible at the seams. All twenty yards match. Handprinted in the USA on American paper, five yards per roll.
