China Seas has printed a lot of wallpapers over the decades, and Sigourney is the one that keeps winning. Not because it's the most dramatic or the most historically grounded or the most technically complex - but because it solves a problem that most large-scale patterns create rather than solve. The problem: a bold, overscaled botanical print that reads as statement-making in the showroom will often overwhelm an actual room, competing with furniture, art, and the people living in it. Sigourney avoids this by choosing restraint in exactly one dimension - color - and letting the scale do its work without chromatic competition. Taupe on white is barely a color decision at all. It is a decision to let the drawing carry the room.

And the drawing earns it.
