The town I'm named for sits on the North Shore of Massachusetts, where the Atlantic arrives without ceremony and the light off the water is a specific shade of cold clarity that architects have been trying to replicate indoors for two centuries.
I am not cold. I am turquoise and new blue on tinted Belgian linen-cotton — warm enough to live in, specific enough to remember. The interlocking ribbon geometry reads as ikat from across the room and as something more architectural up close: squares within squares, a lattice that resolves into florals at the intersections, the kind of repeat that rewards the person who gets close enough to look.
