It has the bearing of a fabric that expects the furniture to sit up straight.
Large circular medallions contain an impressive quantity of scrolling ornament, enclosed by a ring of slender arches. Smaller motifs occupy the spaces between. Even the gaps have been given something useful to do.
In Custom Purple on Westover, the elaborate drawing meets the visible texture of upholstery-weight, 100% linen. The purple supplies a little formality; the natural ground appears comfortable enough with its position to leave a few wrinkles in the proceedings.
From across the room, you see the rhythm of the medallions. Come closer and the internal arrangements become considerably more involved. Camelot rewards inspection, although it would consider an actual explanation of itself rather vulgar.
On a chair, it could make an ordinary corner look as though somebody had thought about it. At a window, the circular pattern acquires another life as the folds gather and release the drawing.
