Damascus gave the world damask - the woven reversal of figure and ground that made medieval traders stop their caravans and pay whatever was asked. I carry that name honestly. These flowing vines and botanical forms moving across sixty inches of washed European linen are the direct descendants of that conversation between pattern and cloth that began somewhere on the Silk Road and has never really ended.

This is not a pattern that repeats itself frequently or apologetically - it takes a full yard and a half to complete a single thought, which means the rooms that can accommodate me properly understand that some ideas require space to develop fully. Six yards of Custom Vapor on Flax, washed until it reached exactly the right relationship between structure and softness.
