Count Giuseppe Volpi di Misurata made his fortune in electricity and Libyan development, but Venice remembers him for inventing the Film Festival in 1932—a man who understood that spectacle requires infrastructure. The Volpi Cup for Best Actor is still awarded each September at the Lido. Quadrille's Volpi operates on similar principles: a small-scale washed damask that provides the infrastructure for larger patterns to shine. At 2½" vertical repeat, it is deliberately subordinate, the geometric rhythm that lets Veneto or Carlo take the leading role. The pattern knows its place in the hierarchy, which is precisely what makes it indispensable.

Fifteen yards on white Suncloth is enough for a full set of outdoor dining chairs or a daybed with yardage to spare for pillows. The Soft Windsor Blue reads crisper on white than on cream—more coastal, less Continental—though it coordinates surprisingly well with its vellum-ground cousins if you're mixing across a terrace. The white ground photographs brighter than it appears in life; call the warehouse if you're uncertain, because all sales are final and we don't send cuttings. Suncloth is 100% acrylic, handprinted in the USA, and built for weather. Sun and chlorine will soften it over seasons. Furniture that lives outside should look like it lives outside.
