Batik traveled from Java to the world through colonial trade routes and midcentury textile enthusiasm, shedding its ritual significance and gaining decorative flexibility along the way. Macoco Reverse keeps the wax-resist aesthetic - those characteristic broken lines, the sense of hand process - but organizes it into a geometric grid that reads more Palm Springs modern than tropical resort. The alternating diagonal lines create a kind of visual maze, a pattern dense enough to hold its own against solid upholstery but open enough not to overwhelm a small room. Custom Bali blue on white Belgian linen-cotton ground, handprinted in the USA, 12-13 inch repeat that locks together seamlessly whether you're covering a single chair or an entire banquette.

Eight yards at 53 inches wide. That's potentially a sofa with enough left for coordinating pillows, or a pair of slipcovered dining chairs with remnants for testing (spills!). This is the wild card fabric - equally at home in a coastal cottage, a mid-century living room, or a maximalist bedroom that layers pattern on pattern until the eye learns to rest. 

This is a custom color and will NOT match any other China Seas fabrics with the same name.  Designers may choose any name they like for custom colors.
