The tree peony has been the king of Chinese flowers for fourteen centuries. Emperors grew them. Poets wrote about them. Painters spent careers trying to get the weight of the petals right - that specific heaviness that a peony has, as if it's considering whether to stay open or give up and fall.
I am that flower, on 100% linen, handprinted in America on ground woven in Europe, in a colorway that has no interest in being subtle. Blues and red on tinted linen, 49 inches wide, 13¼ inch repeat.
There are two yards of me left.
I want to be honest with you about what two yards means. It means a pillow. Two pillows. A roman shade in a small window that will make everyone who sees it ask where you found it.
You will tell them you found it. You will not tell them there were only two yards. That part is yours to keep.
