Quadrille Fabric: Les Indiennes Multicolor - Custom Red / Blue / Olive Green on Belgian Linen / Cotton
To describe Les Indiennes is to describe a ghost that has been haunting the textile world since the 17th century—a pattern that is simultaneously a travelogue, a botanical study, and a high-fashion rebellion.

This colorway — Custom Red, Blue, and Olive Green from the JSPEC A dye lot — is Les Indiennes in a mood the 17th-century traders would have recognized: the palette of a spice route. The red has the warmth of madder root, the blue deepens like indigo at the bottom of a dye vat, and the olive green is the color of something that has been growing in humid air for a very long time. These are not colors that were chosen from a fan deck. They are colors that were mixed by hand for a specific commission, and what you are looking at is the remainder — the yards that survived after the project took what it needed. The Ghost, in this particular incarnation, arrived by sea and has no intention of going back.
