Toile has rules. The scene should be pastoral or mythological, the figures should be arranged with narrative intention, and the whole thing should read as a story you're slightly too far away to fully overhear. Dianne follows these rules and then exceeds them - the classical mythology brief producing birds and botanical elements of unusual quality, the avocado green landing in that precise register between olive and chartreuse where fabric becomes genuinely difficult to date.
