Quadrille Fabric: Veneto Custom Ground / Color - Soft Windsor Blue on Vellum (OUTDOOR)

Some patterns carry their own history. This medallion - facing birds, layered cartouches, the whole Silk Road vocabulary - has been showing up on luxury textiles since before anyone was keeping records. The soft Windsor Blue colorway domesticates it just enough. Five yards means two serious dining chairs or one very opinionated banquette.

Windsor Blue is the color of confidence that doesn’t need to announce itself. This particular soft version sits closer to a faded Delft than a statement navy - it’s blue that has already made its point and moved on. The pattern is a full medallion with facing birds at the center, the kind of motif that showed up on Portuguese tiles and Ottoman textiles for the same reason it works here: bilateral symmetry is inherently calming to the human nervous system.

The surprise is that this is suncloth - 100% acrylic, handprinted in the USA, built for outdoor use. A pattern this formally composed on a fabric this practically durable creates an interesting cognitive dissonance. Your poolside chairs can have a thesis.
