Carlo II - Custom Teal on Cream Suncloth:

The Venetian textile guilds kept pattern books the way other cities kept laws—closely guarded, inherited through generations, copied only under oath. Carlo belongs to the family of washed damasks that Quadrille developed from this tradition: patterns that suggest centuries of use even when the ink is still wet. The motif is bolder than its cousin Volpi, with a 13" horizontal repeat that gives the eye more to follow, yet the hand remains deliberately soft. This is the difference between a pattern that announces itself and one that simply presides. Carlo does the latter. The name suits it—neither first in line nor invisible, but unmistakably present.

Teal on cream reads warmer than aqua on white, which matters when you're furnishing a space that will be used past September. At 52" width and that generous horizontal repeat, Carlo works on deeper cushions and wider chaises where Volpi might get lost. The Suncloth ground is 100% acrylic, woven in the USA and handprinted at the same facility—built for weather, resistant to mildew, accepting of the occasional spilled Aperol. Direct sun and chlorinated pool water will fade it over seasons; this is physics, not a defect. Pair with Veneto if you want the full palazzo vocabulary, or let Carlo anchor the conversation alone.

Suncloth is a synthetic fabric designed for more rugged use. While it is suitable for outdoors, please note that continuous exposure to direct sun and/or chlorinated water will cause fading.
